Our company was the brain-child of our very own Miss Ellie, Ellen Doherty, she noticed there was a gap in the market for a flight only specialist, she decided to act on her instinct so she found a shop to rent and opened Miss Ellies Travel in Ancoats, Manchester in January 1987.

The business very quickly moved into all aspects of travel, the phrase ‘dynamic packaging’ may not have been coined by Ellie, but she was certainly booking accommodation and flights separately, for many years, before it gained it’s name! We have always offered travel from any UK airport although the Miss Ellies brand has always been synonymous with Manchester.

Ellie always insisted her staff strived to find the best holiday for the best price, for all our customers, she instilled these qualities in all her staff and made sure the customer always came first, she taught us well.

Such was her business success, Ellie quickly opened a second shop in Urmston, Manchester in July 1988 and this is where we are NOW based. It’s a busy high street shop in the centre of the town, on Crofts Bank Road. There's a mix of loyal, regular customers who have followed our path from Ancoat and new customers too, all who appreciate our experience and knowledge. Together we've created a real community of like-minded people.

The team at Miss Ellies, now part of Vertical Travel Group, have been with the company for many years; small but perfectly-formed, we have over 100 years travel experience between us, so you can rest assured you are in very safe hands when it comes to finding you the perfect holiday.
